Forbes Coaches Council Contribution: How To Use Nonverbal Signals To Make A Message More Effective
Mountaintop Consulting CEO Precious Williams Owodunni recently shared her ideas in the Forbes Coaches Council article “How To Use Nonverbal Signals To Make A Message More Effective.”
Her suggestion: Balance words with effective expression. Research on communication proves that a picture is literally worth a thousand words. People interpret speech based mostly on facial expressions and tone, but leaders often focus their preparation on the words. The result can be a disconnect in which the “right” words are conveyed with inconsistent body language that overshadows or undermines the message.
