Newsletter: What Success Makes Possible
This time of year always makes me a little more reflective. Today marks 17 years since I founded Mountaintop Consulting, and I’ve found myself thinking about the impact of our work.
Since inception, we’ve helped professionals earn promotions, step into executive roles, and build stronger teams. But one client conversation stands out.
He had recently become an equity partner and was earning significantly more than when his executive coaching began. When he called, I assumed he wanted to discuss the promotion and compensation achievements. Instead, as he described the impact of those milestones and our work together, he focused on being able to sit down for dinner with his kids each night without feeling distracted by work.
It was a good reminder that professional success isn’t just about what we achieve. It’s also (and more importantly) about what those achievements make possible.
Promotions, leadership opportunities, recognition, and financial rewards all have tremendous value. So does having the time, flexibility, and peace of mind to enjoy the life you’ve worked so hard to build. That combination of achievement and fulfillment is the legacy we’re cultivating at Mountaintop.
